I’m now the very happy owner of a Master Degree in Digital Media.

This week I’ve been down at Hyper Island for Graduation. Presented my Final project which went really well. Great to hang out with everyone again (although some peps I missed like crazy). Tons of Party, laughs and love. And the day of graduation was just perfect with Champaign, speeches and a boat ride. Just so sad to say good bye to everyone afterwards. Always in my heart DM09KNA :D.

Back to Hyper Island for a week of Intersnhip presentations, Final project introduction and party. Great to see everyone again that I said good bye to in june last year and most of them haven’t seen since then. Was hella tried after all traveling and shit, and got a cold as well, but still, it was a lot of fun.
Had a really good lecture/workshop; Idea generating, with Thomas Reibke from ChangeDesign. Got some very useful inspiration and tips from him. Also got our Final project up and running, which I will be working on the 7 following weeks, packing my bags again and moving up to stockholm tomorrow.
Cant believe I’m going home next week. It does feel good tho. I need a plan and a goal to keep me going and right now it kinda feels like I have one. At least a start, so this is my March Plan:
7th
Leaving SF
8th
Arriving to Stockholm, my broth & sis will pick me up for a 5h drive home to my parents.
9th-13th
Down to Hyper Island (Karlskrona) for Final project introduction and Internship presentations, PARTY
13th
Heading to my Parents place to SLEEP
16th
To Stockholm to start working on the Final Project
18th
Flying to London for interview and chillin’
20th-30th
Back to Stockholm to keep working on the Final project and Freelance work

So, as a part of our Course at Hyper Island we’re doing a Final Project, which will start in March and goes to June when we graduate. Now is the time to decide what to do and send in the Brief. I’m going to do a project together with one of my oldest and favorite friends, and her classmate, who’re studying at Luleå University of Technology and working on their Essay. Think I’m going to keep the subject for the project a secret for a while. Anyway, started to write on the Brief today and I have no idea why, but I actually enjoyed it, probably because I’m really excited about the project. Feels good, Hell yeah!
Finally meet up with the other Hyper-kids that lives in SF, went for a beer and had a good time. Afterwards when Hampus and I was going for some beer in the local store, we meet some Swedish guys living in a hostel, just next to our apartment building. So hooked up with them, just hanging out at their hostel, meeting a lot of nice people and drinking some beer.
After leaving karlskrona and Hyper I’ve been thinking about the time I actually had there. Of the things I’ve learned, I know for sure that I haven’t learned most about design and the digital media industry. I’ve learned so much about that stuff as well, but most important, I’ve learned so much about myself, about the person; me.
In the beginning of Hyper, last August I felt really bad for different reasons. So I wasn’t really sure I was going to even manage to get my ass to school at all. But now I realize, sometimes you really have to hit the bottom to be able to make it up again, and I did. For each new challange I got nervous and questioned myself, will I manage to do this? Am I good enough? I was so surprised after each time I actually saw myself managing to make it, maybe not always in the best way or with the greatest results, but I made it.
Beyond the fact that I developing a hell lot as a person. I really had a great time there. I never could imagine to meet so many wonderful people and after al I think i learned some design shit too.
Will miss the friendships, the balcony talks, the late nights in school, the laughs, the too dirty sexjokes, the parties, the arms around my body when I fell asleep…
Finish off the design for Galaxen Creative, the education I mentioned in the previous post, that we’ve been doing Marketing strategy and Design concept for. Initially I felt a bit nervous about being responsible for the design, this since I’ve been in a real dip when it comes to creativity and design. After about two days just sitting and starring at the computer with a blank sheet in photoshop I realized why. I know that just half a year ago I created things because they just appeared in my head, but nowadays I spend to much time going through my RSS and sites looking at kick as design all the time, so when an idea appears in my head I just feel that I wont make it as nice that other people could do… of course it silly but I can’t help it, it’s just a temporary dip, I promise, I hope..
After this insight I decided to just screw everything and go with my first idea and then go from there. So I did, and this is the result, I made an photo colleague that we used as a graphic element for different kinds of marketing…

Things have moved on.. Into the last module here in Kalskrona, the module were the class have been divided into three agencies. This is the best idea Hyper have come up with so far. We are actually working like real companies, with CEO, clients and stuff. We also will get briefs later on and pitch for the clients and compete against the other companies, trying to earn as much money as possible. We have to count all our working hours and it will cost the company lots of money if we work overtime, which really had made the people work effective, for once.. I’m Working with Dennis and Dagman on a project for the Swedish festival, Arvika festivalen. And our aim is to come up with a concept and market strategy to market their event and management education. I really think it will be a lot of fun the time that remains here..
Hmf just realized that this text sounds a bit strange, it’s all made up, we will not earn real money, but the projects and the clients are real of course, which is nice!
